Ebola, COVID-19 or types of Influenza viruses pandemics, as well as the non-transparent activities of biolaboratories around the world, raise more and more questions from scientists and public figures.
Suspicions of the artificial origin of viruses, as well as the risks of leaks during dangerous research, prompted a group of independent scientists from the United States to create a non-profit organization Protect Our Future, a press release of which was published on February 06 at https://biosafetynow.org.

According to the information on the Organization’s website, the mission: “is to demand national- and international-level regulations and oversight to reduce the risks to the public posed by research on pathogens”. To achieve the goals, the organizers hope to unite worried citizens and demand the states to pass new laws, restricting work with dangerous bacteria, viruses and infectious agents.
“Our Leadership Team comprises persons with expertise and experience in biomedicine, mathematics, public health, public policy, law, and public advocacy, all of whom agree that research that creates potential pandemic pathogens more dangerous than those in nature poses existential risks to the public and provides few, if any, benefits for science, medicine, public health, or national security.” — Press-release stated.
Protect Our Future co-founder Richard Ebright, one of the scientists who have argued that the SARS-CoV-2 virus could have entered human body due to laboratory accident or mistake. They called for a more thorough investigation of the pandemic origin, as well as measures to reduce the risk of future pandemics.
The group includes biologists, biosecurity experts, activists and public figures. Five, including Ebright, were the founders of the Cambridge Working Group, which in 2014 helped to suspend the research that could lead to the emergence of new, dangerous human viruses, more: https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.346.6208.404. They now calling for «an independent, comprehensive forensic investigation of SARS-CoV-2 origin and the COVID-19 pandemic.»
The organization’s website lists more than a dozen cases of laboratory leaks or suspected leaks of viruses and dangerous diseases in recent years.
“Our Vision is a future free of lab-generated pandemics, a future free of reckless research on enhanced potential pandemic pathogens, and a future where public trust in science is restored.” — Press-release stated.
In 2022, officials of the Russian Federation and the Chinese Foreign Ministry demanded the United States to explain the activities of their laboratories in Ukraine and the post-Soviet space. And in the spring of 2021, the politicians of China and United States exchanged accusations of the artificial appearance of SARS-CoV-2. All this does not add credibility to official scientific and government organizations.
